October 2026 Full-Time Monday to Friday 3537 hours per week Permanent
A secondary school in Sutton is looking for a Science Technician to become part of its science department from October.
Youll be working behind the scenes to keep practical lessons running smoothly preparing resources looking after equipment and supporting staff across Biology Chemistry and Physics.
The successful candidate will:
Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons.
Set up experiments and demonstrations.
Maintain and organise laboratory equipment.
Keep track of stock and arrange supplies when needed.
Support teachers with practical activities.
Carry out routine checks and report any issues with equipment.
Keep laboratories and preparation areas safe and organised.
Follow COSHH and school health and safety procedures.
Were looking for someone with previous Science Technician or laboratory experience who has a good understanding of practical science.
You should be organised dependable and able to work on your own initiative. Good attention to detail is important as is the ability to manage several tasks during a busy school day.
Experience within a secondary school science department particularly with GCSE practical work would be an advantage.
The role will generally follow school opening times with a typical pattern of Monday to Thursday 8:30am4:30pm and Friday 8:00am4:00pm.
