Job Summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and proactive Science Technician to join a progressive supportive secondary school in the London Borough of Croydon.
Working alongside a cohesive team of specialist science teachers and experienced technicians you will provide vital technical logistical and practical support across Biology Chemistry and Physics laboratories up to Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

You will support practical science lessons across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level) by preparing apparatus chemical solutions and learning materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare laboratory equipment practical demonstrations and chemical solutions accurately and safely according to lesson schedules.
Ensure strict adherence to CLEAPSS COSHH and school Health & Safety guidelines across all laboratories and prep rooms.
Maintain stock inventories conduct regular equipment safety checks and assist with ordering consumable supplies.
Safely store handle and clear away chemicals biological specimens and hazardous waste post-practical sessions.
Support teaching staff during required practical assessments open days and extra-curricular STEM activities.

Knowledge: Familiarity with COSHH regulations CLEAPSS standards and general laboratory safety protocols.
