Job Summary
October 2026 Full-Time Monday to Friday 3537 hours per week Permanent
A high-performing secondary school in Richmond upon Thames is looking for a Science Technician to join its established science department on a permanent basis.
Youll work closely with teaching staff to make sure practical lessons run smoothly from preparing equipment and materials through to maintaining laboratories and managing stock.
Prepare practical equipment chemicals and materials for lessons.
Set up and clear away experiments and demonstrations.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure resources are available.
Support teachers during practical lessons.
Monitor stock and assist with ordering supplies.
Keep laboratories clean organised and safe.
Follow all relevant health and safety and COSHH procedures.
Previous Science Technician or relevant laboratory experience.
Good practical knowledge of Biology Chemistry and/or Physics.
Understanding of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
Organised reliable and able to work independently.
Good attention to detail and time management.
Comfortable working in a busy school environment.
Experience with GCSE and A-Level practical work would be an advantage.
The role will generally follow school opening times with a typical pattern of Monday to Thursday 8:30am4:30pm and Friday 8:00am4:00pm.
