Science Technician Oversubscribed School in Colchester

We are currently recruiting for a proactive and organised Science Technician to join the thriving Science Department of a well-established and highly regarded secondary school in Colchester Essex.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in science and strong practical skills to play a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging lessons across Biology Chemistry and Physics.

The Role

Working alongside teaching staff and the Lead Science Technician your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing apparatus materials and chemicals for practical science lessons

• Setting up and dismantling experiments in line with health and safety regulations

• Managing maintaining and ordering laboratory stock and equipment

• Providing in-class support during practical sessions where required

• Ensuring laboratories are safe tidy and fully compliant with current legislation

• Supporting risk assessments and the safe storage and handling of chemicals

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Science Technician would be advantageous although full training will be provided
