We are recruiting a Science Technician for a secondary school in Maidstone. The successful candidate will provide practical and technical support to the science department across a range of lessons and experiments.

You will help ensure laboratories are fully prepared equipment is maintained and practical activities are conducted safely.

• Prepare apparatus and resources for practical science lessons.

• Set up experiments and demonstrations in advance of lessons.

• Maintain and organise laboratory equipment.

• Prepare and store chemicals and other scientific materials safely.

• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering resources.

• Maintain clean and safe laboratory environments.

• Follow COSHH and school health and safety procedures.

• Assist teachers with practical demonstrations where required.

• Conduct routine equipment checks.

• Maintain appropriate records relating to stock and equipment.

• Previous laboratory or technical experience.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good understanding of laboratory health and safety.

• Organised approach to preparing practical resources.

• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately.

• Good communication skills.

• Relevant science or laboratory qualifications would be beneficial.
