We are working with a well-established secondary school in Maidenhead that is seeking a Science Technician to join its busy science department.

The successful candidate will provide practical and technical support to teaching staff helping ensure laboratories are properly prepared and that lessons can be delivered safely and effectively.

• Prepare laboratories and practical equipment ahead of lessons.

• Set up experiments and demonstrations in accordance with teacher instructions.

• Prepare store and organise scientific materials and resources.

• Maintain laboratory equipment and report damaged or faulty items.

• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering replacement resources.

• Clean and maintain laboratories preparation rooms and equipment.

• Ensure chemicals and other materials are stored correctly and safely.

• Follow COSHH health and safety and school-specific procedures.

• Assist teaching staff during practical activities where required.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment stock and laboratory checks.

• Previous experience as a Science Technician Laboratory Technician or similar practical role is desirable.

• Strong organisational and practical skills.

• Good understanding of laboratory safety procedures.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.

• Methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently while supporting a wider department.
