October 2026 Full-Time Monday to Friday 3537 hours per week Permanent
A high-performing secondary school in Islington is looking to appoint a Science Technician to join its science department on a permanent basis from October.
Youll work closely with the teaching team to ensure practical lessons are well prepared equipment is maintained and laboratories are kept safe and organised.
Prepare equipment chemicals and resources for practical lessons.
Set up and clear away experiments and demonstrations.
Maintain laboratory equipment and monitor stock.
Assist with ordering and organising science supplies.
Support teachers during practical sessions.
Keep laboratories and preparation areas clean and tidy.
Follow COSHH and school health and safety procedures.
Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment.
Good knowledge of practical science and laboratory equipment.
Understanding of COSHH and safe working practices.
Organised reliable and able to manage your own workload.
Good attention to detail and a practical approach.
Comfortable working closely with teachers and supporting practical lessons.
Previous experience in a secondary school and familiarity with GCSE practical work would be beneficial.
The role will generally follow school opening times with a typical pattern of Monday to Thursday 8:30am4:30pm and Friday 8:00am4:00pm.
