A secondary school in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Science Technician to join its science department. The successful candidate will support practical lessons across the science curriculum and ensure laboratories are properly prepared.
You will play an important role in ensuring equipment materials and practical resources are available and safely managed.
Prepare practical equipment and materials for lessons.
Set up experiments and demonstrations.
Maintain laboratory equipment and resources.
Monitor stock and assist with ordering supplies.
Safely store chemicals and scientific materials.
Follow COSHH and laboratory safety procedures.
Maintain clean and organised laboratory spaces.
Assist teachers with practical activities where required.
Carry out routine equipment checks.
Maintain records relating to equipment and stock.
Previous laboratory science or technical experience.
Strong attention to detail.
Good understanding of laboratory safety.
Ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
Organised approach to resource preparation.
Good communication skills.
Relevant science or technical qualifications would be advantageous.
