A dynamic school in Chelmsford requires a reliable Science Technician to assist with the smooth running of practical science lessons and maintain lab equipment.
Core Responsibilities
Assemble apparatus and prepare solutions chemicals and biological specimens for student experiments.
Clear away equipment safely after lessons washing up glassware and returning items to storage.
Conduct routine maintenance safety inspections and electrical testing of laboratory equipment.
Monitor chemical stocks waste disposal and safety data sheets according to COSHH rules.
Support teachers in maintaining a safe clean and stimulating learning workspace.
About You
Background in science (biology chemistry or physics) through education or employment.
Familiarity with school laboratory safety standards and CLEAPSS guidelines.
Hands-on practical aptitude with good organisational skills.
Friendly collaborative attitude with a reliable work ethic.
