A secondary school in Canterbury is looking to appoint a Science Technician to support its science department across practical lessons and laboratory activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory scientific technical or practical experience who enjoys working in an educational environment.
Prepare laboratories and equipment for practical lessons.
Set up experiments and demonstrations.
Prepare chemicals materials and scientific resources safely.
Maintain laboratory equipment and report faults.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering.
Clean and organise laboratories and preparation areas.
Ensure materials are stored according to school procedures.
Follow COSHH and health and safety requirements.
Support teachers during practical lessons.
Maintain accurate equipment and stock records.
Previous laboratory or science-related experience is desirable.
Good understanding of laboratory safety.
Strong organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to follow technical instructions.
Practical and methodical approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a department.
