A welcoming and well-regarded Rural Secondary School in Devon is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its successful Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive school that combines strong academic expectations with a close-knit community feel and excellent pastoral care.

Science is a valued subject across the school with students encouraged to develop curiosity practical investigation skills and a secure understanding of the world through a broad and engaging curriculum.

You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging and well-planned lessons that inspire students and support strong progress.

The role will involve teaching Biology Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4 with the opportunity to teach your specialist science at A-Level depending on your experience and expertise.

You will support students in developing practical laboratory skills scientific literacy and analytical thinking while preparing them for GCSE and A-Level examinations. The successful candidate will also contribute to STEM enrichment intervention strategies and wider departmental initiatives.

• Teach Science across KS3 KS4 and KS5

• Deliver engaging lessons across Biology Chemistry and Physics

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

• Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities

• Assess student work and provide detailed constructive feedback

• Monitor progress and implement targeted intervention strategies

• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

• Support STEM clubs science competitions and wider enrichment activities

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Science at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

• Strong subject knowledge in Biology Chemistry or Physics

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level Science

• Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities

• Experience working in a smaller or community-focused school setting

• Strong track record of improving student outcomes
