Science Teaching Role in an Outstanding School

An outstanding school in Birmingham is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join its highly successful department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-achieving and supportive school that values scientific enquiry academic excellence and exceptional teaching.

Science is a highly regarded subject within the school with students encouraged to develop curiosity analytical thinking and practical investigative skills across Biology Chemistry and Physics.


About the Role

You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons that inspire curiosity and support excellent student progress.

The role includes both practical and theoretical teaching helping students develop confidence in experimentation scientific reasoning and problem-solving.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations supporting students in achieving excellent outcomes and progression to higher education including STEM pathways.

You will work collaboratively within a successful Science department committed to maintaining outstanding standards of teaching and learning.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Science across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver lessons across Biology Chemistry and Physics

  • Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations

  • Assess student work and provide clear constructive feedback

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

  • Maintain safe laboratory procedures and environments

  • Contribute to STEM enrichment and departmental initiatives

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology Chemistry or Physics

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Science

  • Experience working in an outstanding or high-achieving school

  • Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities

  • Strong track record of examination success
