Science Teacher Role in a Leading Independent School

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons that inspire students and develop their scientific understanding.

Students study Biology Chemistry and Physics through an ambitious curriculum that promotes scientific enquiry experimentation and critical thinking. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations while encouraging a passion for STEM subjects and further study.

You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through science clubs STEM projects practical workshops competitions and enrichment activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Science across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations

  • Develop students scientific enquiry and analytical skills

  • Plan and supervise practical investigations safely

  • Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Support STEM enrichment and extracurricular activities

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology Chemistry or Physics

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Science

  • Specialism in Biology Chemistry or Physics

  • Experience supporting STEM clubs or enrichment activities

  • A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
