Science Teacher Role in an Independent School

An established Independent School in Worcester is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join its successful Science department from September. About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging lessons that inspire students across Biology Chemistry and Physics.

Students follow a challenging and varied curriculum that combines theoretical understanding with practical experimentation developing scientific enquiry analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science qualifications while supporting them to achieve excellent academic outcomes and develop a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.

You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through STEM clubs science societies competitions educational visits and enrichment activities that extend students learning beyond the classroom.


Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Science across KS3 KS4 and KS5

  • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations

  • Develop students scientific knowledge enquiry skills and confidence

  • Assess progress and provide high-quality constructive feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Support STEM activities competitions and enrichment opportunities

  • Encourage curiosity and a passion for scientific discovery

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology Chemistry or Physics

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Science in a specialist discipline

  • Experience supporting STEM enrichment activities

  • Ability to inspire students through practical and investigative science

  • A proven track record of delivering strong student outcomes
