Role Overview

A welcoming community secondary school in Walsall is seeking an inspiring enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join their energetic Science department this role you will deliver high-quality practical and theoretical science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Combined and Separate Sciences) with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A Level Biology Chemistry or Physics) depending on your specialism and experience. You will cultivate curiosity critical thinking and a passion for scientific discovery across all pupil ability levels. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan prepare and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in alignment with the National Curriculum and GCSE exam board specifications.

• Maintain rigorous health and safety standards in the laboratory adhering to CLEAPSS guidelines and COSHH regulations during all practical experiments.

• Utilize formative tracking and diagnostic assessment data to monitor pupil attainment and implement targeted intervention strategies.

• Adapt teaching methods to cater to pupils with SEND EAL or high prior attainment fostering an inclusive and challenging classroom environment.

• Work collaboratively with department colleagues and laboratory technicians to refine schemes of work and share innovative teaching resources.

Key Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry Physics or a related scientific field.

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.

• Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Science with thorough knowledge of current GCSE specifications.

• Strong classroom management practical laboratory supervision and communication skills.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
