Job Summary
4-month contract role with a local authority
Summary
- This is a 4-month contract role with a local authority aimed at providing professional responsive and customer-focused HR advice and support to schools that purchase the HR service. As a trusted advisor the role supports school leaders and managers with a full range of employee relations and people management matters. The position ensures compliance with employment legislation school policies and best practices while delivering a high-quality service that inspires confidence.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely accurate and practical HR advice to headteachers senior leaders and school managers on a wide range of people-related matters.
- Advise on employee relations cases including disciplinary grievance capability attendance management and performance issues.
- Support schools with recruitment and selection processes ensuring fair and inclusive practices.
- Guide managers on employment legislation HR policies procedures and best practices.
- Assist with workforce planning organizational change restructures and consultation processes where required.
- Attend meetings hearings and appeals providing professional HR advice and support.
- Produce and review HR documentation reports correspondence and case records.
Requirements:
- Essential Experience Required:
- Experience in providing HR advice across a broad range of employee relations matters.
- Experience in supporting managers with disciplinary grievance performance and absence management cases.
- Experience in interpreting and applying employment legislation and HR policies.
- Experience in providing HR advice across a broad range of employee relations matters.
- Essential Qualifications Required:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent HR qualification) or significant relevant HR experience.
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent HR qualification) or significant relevant HR experience.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Hybrid working: Minimum one day a week at Loxley House especially important for those who havent advised schools before.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
