Job Overview
Working closely with the Facilities Director you will take ownership of the physical upkeep security and smooth day-to-day running of the school grounds and buildings. This role blends hands-on maintenance safety compliance and logistical support making it ideal for a practical person who enjoys a varied and active workday.
Key Responsibilities
Reactive & Planned Repairs: Swiftly handle day-to-day fix-it tasks including door repairs fixing blinds tile replacement minor painting and general carpentry.
Statutory Compliance Checks: Conduct and log crucial health and safety checks including weekly alarm soundings Legionella water flushing and regular ladder and equipment inspections.
Opening Closing & Security: Act as a keyholder to unlock gates and buildings in the morning carry out evening lock-ups and monitor security and CCTV systems.
School Events Support: Prepare halls classrooms and sports facilities by setting up staging seating and audio-visual equipment for assemblies and parent evenings.
Waste & Grounds Care: Monitor waste disposal areas clear external pathways grit surfaces during cold weather and maintain a tidy hazard-free exterior.
Visitor and Contractor Support: Welcome and monitor external maintenance contractors on-site ensuring they comply with strict education safeguarding rules.
