Summary

  • The School Organisation and Place Planning Manager is a pivotal role within the local authority tasked with leading the strategic planning coordination and delivery of school place sufficiency. This position ensures the availability of high-quality school places to meet both current and future demands while aligning with statutory requirements demographic growth and educational priorities. The manager will oversee various school organisation projects including expansions new developments amalgamations closures and capacity changes ensuring that the educational infrastructure supports the communitys needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of school place planning strategies to ensure adequate educational provision.
  • Analyse demographic population housing and pupil forecast data to determine school place requirements.
  • Develop and maintain models for school capacity and pupil projections to guide decision-making.
  • Contribute to long-term education and capital planning strategies.
  • Manage school organisation projects including expansions new developments and capacity changes.

Requirements:

  • Essential Experience Required
    • Significant experience in school place planning education strategy local authority planning or a related field.
    • Experience managing complex projects and programmes within education public sector or local government environments.
  • Essential Qualifications Required
    • Degree-level qualification in Education Planning Public Administration Geography Business Management Data Analysis or a related discipline.
    • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to strategic planning education or project management.
Additional Information

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week.
  • Location: 160 Whitechapel Road London Tower Hamlets E1 1BJ United Kingdom.
  • Work pattern: 12 office days 34 remote; flexible depending on circumstances.
  • Bi-weekly schedule.
