School Caretaker Role in a Primary School

A friendly and well-maintained primary school in Leeds is seeking to appoint a School Caretaker to join its site team. This is a full-time role within a supportive school environment that values safety cleanliness and effective site management.

The caretaking team plays a key role in ensuring the school site is safe secure and fully operational for staff and pupils each day.


About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance security and upkeep of the school site ensuring all facilities are safe clean and well maintained.

The role involves carrying out basic repairs site checks health and safety compliance tasks and supporting school events and deliveries.

You will work closely with school leadership and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the school premises.


Key Responsibilities
  • Open and secure the school site daily

  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs

  • Ensure health and safety checks are completed

  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of buildings and grounds

  • Support setting up rooms for events and activities

  • Monitor contractors and deliveries on site

  • Report and escalate larger maintenance issues

  • Ensure safeguarding and site security procedures are followed
