A thriving Secondary School in St Albans is seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to manage site security maintenance and compliance ensuring a safe and welcoming learning environment for students and staff.
Core Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day site security including unlocking/locking routines keyholding and alarm administration.
Carry out routine maintenance basic plumbing carpentry painting and general repairs across the school grounds.
Track statutory Health & Safety compliance including weekly fire alarm testing emergency lighting checks and water hygiene monitoring.
Coordinate with external contractors supervising on-site works and ensuring specifications and safety standards are met.
Oversee site cleanliness waste management and porterage duties.
About You
Proven background in caretaking facilities maintenance or a similar trade role (school experience preferred).
Solid understanding of health safety and manual handling protocols.
Practical DIY and general repair skills.
