School Caretaker – Marlow

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and practical School Caretaker on behalf of a welcoming school in Marlow. The successful candidate will become an important part of the schools premises team helping to ensure that the buildings grounds facilities and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard.

This is a varied hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work and is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a school site.

• Act as a keyholder managing the secure opening and closing of the school premises.

• Carry out regular inspections of classrooms communal areas buildings and grounds.

• Undertake general maintenance DIY minor plumbing joinery and repair tasks.

• Monitor heating lighting water alarm and security systems.

• Maintain playgrounds external areas and general grounds.

• Assist with moving furniture equipment and resources around the school.

• Prepare rooms and facilities for meetings assemblies examinations and events.

• Liaise with contractors and provide access when required.

• Report significant maintenance issues and potential hazards.

• Support the school with health and safety fire safety and emergency procedures.

• Previous experience in caretaking premises facilities maintenance or a relevant trade.

• Strong practical and problem-solving skills.

• Good understanding of general health and safety requirements.

• Ability to work independently and use initiative.

• Reliable flexible and organised approach.

• Professional manner when dealing with staff pupils visitors and contractors.

• Previous school or public-sector experience would be advantageous.
