About the School:

We are seeking a reliable multi-skilled School Caretaker on behalf of an established secondary school in Horsham. The school is known for its excellent facilities respectful student base and a warm collegiate atmosphere among the support staff. This is a critical role that directly influences the comfort safety and operational excellence of the school every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Secure the site daily ensuring all windows doors and gates are locked alarms are armed and trespass risk is minimized.

• Undertake a continuous program of minor building repairs painting and maintenance troubleshooting.

• Oversee the efficient operation of the plant rooms boiler systems and utility controls.

• Maintain accurate statutory logs for health and safety compliance reporting major structural defects directly to the Site Manager.

• Assist in keeping the external environment pristine including clearing drains power-washing walkways and managing external bins.

Requirements:

• Practical hands-on experience in property maintenance facility operations or a relevant industrial trade.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond calmly to unexpected site emergencies (e.g. leaks alarm faults).

• Good physical health to carry out regular manual tasks climbing ladders and lifting equipment safely.

• Honest dependable character with excellent references supporting a history of reliability.
