Room Leader Baby Room (Maternity Cover)

31800 per annum 40 Hours per Week MondayFriday

This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming nursery as Baby Room Leader on a maternity cover contract with the potential to remain with the nursery in a permanent role once the contract comes to an end.

The nursery has been carefully designed to support children at every stage of their development with dedicated rooms for each age group. Each room is thoughtfully equipped with high-quality resources that encourage exploration creativity and learning through play.

Outside children benefit from a beautiful spacious garden featuring exciting play areas plenty of room to explore and a thriving vegetable patch giving them opportunities to connect with nature and enjoy outdoor learning throughout the year.

As Baby Room Leader youll lead a passionate team in creating a safe nurturing and stimulating environment where babies can thrive during these important early months and years.

What Were Looking For

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Room Leader Senior Nursery Practitioner or similar leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience supporting and mentoring colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A warm nurturing and child-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the Baby Room ensuring exceptional standards of care and education.
  • Support and mentor your room team creating a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that support babies learning development and wellbeing.
  • Build strong relationships with children families and colleagues.
  • Observe assess and monitor childrens progress in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Make full use of the nurserys well-equipped indoor spaces and beautiful outdoor environment to support childrens development.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding health and safety and nursery practice at all times.
  • Work closely with the wider management team to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality childcare.
