Road Freight (Transcon) Supervisor

Job Summary
Support local Transcon operations finance people service providers and customers with focus on on-time performance operational efficiencies business development revenue growth and diversification.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of of employees via the company standard of 52 training hours a year and personnel development plans
- Support/work with District Trainer (and peer mentors) to ensure that new hires are properly on-boarded.
- Contribute to the effective daily department meetings with team. Use the workboard to support the operations manager in communicating delegating assigning and/or completing work among the entire team.
- Engage in effective communication with Transcon department all other local teams the Transcon network service providers local management and CHQ.
- Support operations manager with department set up.
- Support the management of origin and destination dwell.
- Drive the timely and accurate processing and tracking and tracing of outbound and/or inbound shipments.
- Adhere to company procedures as outlined in OPS compliance and productivity standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers and customers.
- Attend Transition and Implementation/Account management network calls related to new business as required.
- Drive superior customer service including monitoring the Transcon workboard to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to accurate shipment processing and invoicing per customer tariffs and/or standard operating procedures.
- Take an active role in the transition of new business/updates to existing business. Participate on Transition & Implementation calls and be prepared to support during daily meetings or in the absence of a team member.
- Drive the accurate protection of costs and timely accurate invoice of customers.
- Support accounts receivable follow up Draft Payable follow up and the audit of proof of deliveries and service provider invoices.
- Promote compliance with all company policies and regulations.
- Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
- Maintain certifications related to daily work.
Qualifications :
**Must have the Right to Work in the UK**
Experience
Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge Skills and Behaviours
- A good understanding of Expeditors products services and systems
- Knowledge of your local and overall domestic freight forwarding market
- Effective interpersonal skills including proven abilities to listen comprehend effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel Word etc.)
