Retail & Commercial Banking is looking for a Risk Analyst. Based out of Milton Keynes Belfast Bradford or Glasgow
The Non-Financial Risk Reporting Oversight and Governance team within the Central Controls Office supports the business through risk reporting and management information risk monitoring and coordination risk insight and oversight governance and continuous improvement.
As a Risk Analyst youll play an important role in strengthening first-line risk management through data analysis risk insight and effective monitoring. Youll use information from a range of risk and reporting systems to identify trends themes weaknesses and emerging areas of concern across non-financial risk translating your findings into clear and meaningful insight for Business Risk Partners senior management and risk governance forums.
Youll also support the continued transition of risk reporting and monitoring activities from the second line of defence into the first line of defence helping to embed effective processes identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen how risk information is used to support decision-making.

Extracting validating interrogating and analysing data from multiple risk and reporting systems to identify trends themes emerging risks control weaknesses deficiencies and other areas requiring management attention.
Undertaking thematic analysis across divisions domains and non-financial risk types identifying underlying drivers and translating complex information into clear evidence-based risk insight and recommendations.
Producing management information data visualisations and presentation materials suitable for senior governance including material that may contribute to Executive Committee or Board-level reporting subject to appropriate review by senior colleagues.
Coordinating risk appetite monitoring including obtaining and validating metric submissions maintaining information within relevant systems identifying positions outside agreed risk appetite and reviewing the quality of associated drivers and action plans.
Supporting the Internal Control Profile by reviewing information provided by Santander Group identifying control weaknesses risks deficiencies gaps and organisational drivers of performance and working with relevant stakeholders to support appropriate next steps and governance reporting.
Applying relevant risk frameworks policies and policy standards when undertaking monitoring analysis and reporting; identifying and appropriately challenging potential gaps or areas of non-compliance while providing constructive evidence-based feedback where there are opportunities to improve policies standards or processes.
Supporting risk governance across multiple divisions and domains including preparation of risk packs meeting materials action tracking forward agenda planning maintenance of terms of reference and where required meeting minutes and other governance administration.
Identifying opportunities to improve the quality efficiency and consistency of risk reporting and analysis through better use of data automation artificial intelligence and Microsoft 365 capabilities.

Professional Experience
Experience analysing complex data to identify trends themes issues risks and meaningful insights (Required)
Experience working with risk controls governance reporting or similar data in a regulated or complex environment (Required)
Experience producing management information and presentation materials for senior stakeholders (Required)
Experience coordinating data inputs investigating gaps and following up actions with stakeholders (Required)
Experience applying policies standards or frameworks when reviewing risk control or reporting information (Required)
Experience working with risk appetite internal control assessments risk reporting attestations or certifications (Preferred)
Experience using Santander risk and reporting systems particularly Heracles MicroStrategy and QlikView Risk Appetite Statement reporting (Preferred)
Experience identifying opportunities to improve processes through automation or artificial intelligence (Preferred)
Education
Equivalent relevant experience and demonstrable capability will be considered in place of a formal qualification (Required)
Relevant qualification in risk management data analysis or a related discipline (Preferred)
Hard Skills
Great Microsoft Excel skills including analysing and manipulating data reconciling information and producing clear analytical outputs (Required)
Great Microsoft PowerPoint skills including creating concise and effective presentation materials from complex analysis (Required)
Ability to extract and analyse information from multiple systems and data sources (Required)
Ability to interpret data against relevant policies standards and risk frameworks to identify potential issues weaknesses and areas of non-compliance (Required)
Experience with Heracles MicroStrategy and QlikView Risk Appetite Statement reporting (Preferred)
Experience using reporting data visualisation or workflow tools to improve the quality and efficiency of risk analysis and reporting (Preferred)

Salary Range:
37762.00 - 56642.00 per annum (depending on experience)
This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills experience qualifications and location.
