Representations Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Representations Officer on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 19.58 - 25.83 per hour

Summary:

The Representations Officer will investigate and determine formal and informal appeals representations and complaints relating to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) parking permits and parking suspensions. You will apply relevant parking legislation to make fair consistent and legally compliant decisions while delivering excellent customer service and supporting the effective operation of the Councils Parking Services.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and respond to formal and informal representations appeals and complaints relating to PCNs permits and parking suspensions.
• Assess evidence and make balanced legally compliant decisions in accordance with parking legislation and council policies.
• Prepare case files and present evidence at adjudication hearings before the Environment and Traffic Adjudicators (London Tribunals).
• Process and review parking permit and suspension applications within agreed service standards and timescales.
• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone email and written correspondence within a specialist parking environment.
• Authorise PCN cancellations and refunds in accordance with council procedures.

Essentials:

• Proven experience in parking enforcement appeals and representations (essential).
• Strong knowledge of parking and traffic legislation statutory guidance and enforcement processes.
• Experience preparing evidence and representing cases at adjudication hearings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret legislation and make fair objective and legally robust decisions.
