Summary

  • The Repairs Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the Councils responsive repairs service for occupied properties. This position ensures that residents live in homes that are safe well-maintained and compliant with all statutory and quality standards. The manager will lead a large-scale operation delivering top-notch repairs and maintenance services across approximately 25000 Council properties.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the responsive repairs service for occupied Council properties.
  • Supervise a multi-disciplinary repairs operation covering around 25000 properties.
  • Ensure repairs are conducted safely efficiently and to a high standard within agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate with operational teams and Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) services for effective service delivery.
  • Monitor and enhance service performance through strategic planning performance management and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage and develop a substantial operational workforce including up to 6 direct reports and about 125 indirect reports.
  • Lead activities related to recruitment retention performance management and workforce development.
  • Establish clear objectives and performance standards for teams ensuring accountability.
  • Foster a positive customer-focused and high-performance culture.
  • Support apprenticeships mentoring coaching and career development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Significant management experience in housing property maintenance repairs construction or a similar operational environment.
  • Extensive experience in managing large multi-disciplinary teams and complex service operations.
  • Proven expertise in budget management financial planning cost control and forecasting.
  • Relevant professional experience demonstrating the required level of operational and leadership capability.

  • Contract Duration: 3 months with a local authority
  • Rate: 49.06 per hour umbrella
  • Working Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Payment Schedule: Bi-weekly
