Relief Pharmacist
Job Summary
Providing safe and effective dispensing services within hospital outpatient pharmacy clinics.
Clinically screening outpatient prescriptions to ensure accuracy appropriateness and compliance with local and national guidelines.
Supporting multiple hospital outpatient departments through remote clinical verification
Working closely with consultants specialist nurses pharmacy technicians and wider multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites
Identifying and resolving prescribing issues and medicines-related risks.
Advising patients on their medicines treatment plans and ongoing care.
Contributing to service development quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
Maintaining high standards of patient safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering NHS locally commissioned and private services using both in-store and digital tools
- Leading professional and legal standards for patient safety and pharmacy compliance
- Monitoring evaluating and continually improving standards of care and safety
- Working with the Store Manager to develop the capability of the wider healthcare team
- Growing talent that reflects the communities we serve; coaching mentoring and supporting your colleagues every step of the way.
- Representing Boots within the local community and with healthcare professionals
What youll need to have (our must-haves)
Is a registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Has post-registration experience in hospital outpatient or advanced community pharmacy settings.
Demonstrates excellent clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
Is confident screening prescriptions and managing clinical queries independently.
Has strong communication and collaboration skills.
Is comfortable working onsite and using different digital healthcare systems.
Is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and service improvement.
