What is the role

Make a difference every day as a ReliefKitchen Assistant at Hafod.

This is a 0 hour permanent contract offering you the flexibility to pick and choose available shifts that work for you.

Working alongside the Cook you will support the preparation cooking and serving of meals for residents helping to ensure a high standard of food qualityhygieneand safety. Your role is essential in creating a positive dining experience and supporting residents wellbeing.

Please note:Wereunable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Wereoffering PT/FT hours with a range of shift options including long days early late and night shifts across weekdays and through your availability and what works for you while making sure we cover the shifts the home needs to provide the best care for our residents.

Some of our homes may have limited public transport links and some shifts start early or finish need reliable transport to and from work.

Whatyoullbe doing

  • Assistwith preparingcookingand serving meals and drinks.
  • Support food safety compliance includingControl of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) procedures are followedand Food Safety standards.
  • Carry out general kitchen duties such as washing upsettingtablesand cleaning.
  • Report any equipment faults or concerns and work as part of a supportive team.
  • Maintainhigh standardsof cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.

Whatyoullbring

The Kitchen Assistant role is best suited to someone who is reliablepracticaland team-focused with a strong commitment to cleanliness food hygiene and delivering a high-quality service.

  • A practicalreliableand team-focused approach.
  • Good communicationskills and the ability to build trust listen and work positively with others.
  • Understanding ofhygiene and food safety practices (or willingness to learn).
  • Ability to workindependently and under pressure.
  • Commitment to delivering a high-quality service.

Previouscatering or kitchen experience is helpful but not essential. Training will be provided to support your development.

Picton Court Nursing home in Porthcawl offers high quality care in beautiful surroundings. Providing residential accommodation for older people (male and female) aged 65. Picton Court comprises of 76 bedrooms with en- suite facilities. The home is registered to offer nursing and residential care.
