Recruitment Consultant – Perms Early Years Childcare

Nexter is a specialist childcare and early years recruitment consultancy providing permanent and temporary staffing solutions to private day nurseries preschools and early years groups. Built by experienced sector leaders we are growing quickly and are expanding our dedicated National Permanent Placement Desk to service high client demand.

Unlike a traditional recruitment role where you spend half your time cold-calling to win vacancies we have an established incoming stream of permanent job orders from nursery clients across the country.

The primary challenge isnt finding clientsit is finding engaging and securing qualified talent (Level 3 Practitioners Room Leaders Deputy Managers and Nursery Managers) in a talent-scarce market.

You will take full ownership of your permanent desk: qualifying briefs proactively headhunting passive candidates running telephone screenings managing interview feedback and closing placements.

• Active Candidate Sourcing: Go beyond passive job boards by using Boolean search strings LinkedIn CV databases and direct headhunting to engage qualified Early Years practitioners.
  

• Screening & Pipeline Control: Conduct thorough phone/video interviews assess motivations and qualify notice periods salary expectations and counter-offer risks.
  

• Vacancy & Account Delivery: Take detailed briefs from nursery managers match suitable candidates coordinate interviews and manage the feedback loop promptly.
  

• Speculative Placements: Proactively market high-calibre candidates directly to relevant nursery groups within their commute radius.
  

• ATS Discipline: Keep candidate records vacancy pipelines and interview stages clean and up-to-date using our recruitment software.
  

• Recruitment Experience: Proven track record in full-cycle recruitment or high-volume candidate sourcing (agency or contingency background strongly preferred).
  

• Tenacious Phone Sourcing: Someone who naturally picks up the phone hunts for passive talent and knows how to build rapport with candidates who arent actively applying.
  

• Commercial Mindset: Target-driven organized and focused on turning interviews into billable placement fees.
  

• Self-Sufficiency: Comfortable managing your daily pipeline independently without needing hand-holding on the basics of candidate tracking.
  

• Early Years / Education / Healthcare knowledge is a bonus but commercial resourcing grit and candidate control are what matter most.
  

• Clear uncapped monthly commission scheme paid on billed placement fees.
