About the Role

As a Recovery Navigator within Reach Drug & Alcohol Services in West Dorset you will play a key role in supporting individuals to make positive behavioural changes reduce the risks associated with drug and alcohol use and move towards sustained recovery.


You will manage a caseload of service users providing tailored support signposting to appropriate services and working collaboratively with partner agencies. This is a meaningful opportunity to improve health outcomes and support individuals throughout their recovery journey in a community-focused environment.


What Youll Do

You will:

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to undertake shared assessments key working and interventions that support progression from engagement through to structured treatment and sustained recovery
  • Manage a caseload of service users developing implementing and reviewing ongoing recovery and treatment plans
  • Deliver structured one-to-one support and harm minimisation advice
  • Carry out assessments recovery planning and risk management plans
  • Facilitate and run group sessions within the service and wider community
  • Empower service users to set and safely achieve their recovery goals
  • Build strong relationships with GPs healthcare professionals social care networks family members and significant others
  • Support access to additional services beyond appointments through community partnerships
  • Engage and support volunteers and peer support workers
  • Apply interventions such as Brief Interventions Motivational Interviewing (MI) Psychosocial Interventions (PSIs) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and ITEP
  • Work across a range of needs including: Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) alcohol use non-opiate substance use and combined alcohol and non-opiate needs


To Succeed in This Role You Will Need


Essential
  • A strong passion for supporting individuals through recovery
  • Ability to build positive professional relationships with service users and stakeholders
  • Experience delivering person-centred or tailored interventions
  • Strong communication and motivational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • A community-focused and inclusive approach to practice


Desirable
  • Experience working within substance misuse services or similar roles
  • Knowledge of harm reduction approaches and recovery models
  • Experience facilitating group sessions or workshops
  • Understanding of partnership working across health and social care services
