Job Title: Ready to Wear Machinist/CutterWe have an exciting opportunity for a Ready to Wear Machinist or Cutter to join Johnstons of Elgin. As a Ready-to-Wear Machinist or Cutter at Johnstons of Elgin you will play a key role in the production of luxury garments ensuring exceptional standards of craftsmanship quality and attention to detail. Working with the finest cashmere and natural fibres you will be responsible for accurately cutting fabrics and constructing garments to specification while maintaining the heritage and reputation of the is a permanent position on dayshift shift (38 hours) working Monday to Thursday 0700-1600 and Friday 0700 of pay for this role is 13.45 - 15.00 per hour depending on skills qualifications and experience. Candidates with relevant skills and experience may be appointed at a higher rate within the advertised range. Fully qualified Machinists/Cutters will be paid 15.00 per the RoleYour key duties will includeMachinist DutiesOperate industrial sewing machinery to construct luxury ready-to-wear garment components to detailed specifications and production consistent stitch quality seam accuracy and garment patterns technical specifications and work out in-process quality checks to ensure garments meet company and report any fabric component or construction collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production all garments are produced with exceptional attention to detail and DutiesLay up fabrics and prepare materials for mark measure and cut garment components according to patterns and fabric waste while maintaining quality fabric for faults and report any issues before and label cut components for efficient production a clean safe and organised work youThis is what were looking for in our ideal candidate:EssentialExperience operating industrial sewing machines and/or cutting equipment within a garment manufacturing attention to detail and commitment to to read and follow patterns specifications and technical hand-eye coordination and manual to work effectively as part of a and self-motivated with a positive working with luxury fabrics such as cashmere wool or experience within a premium or luxury clothing manufacturing of garment construction techniques and quality -skilled experience across both cutting and machining QualitiesPride in producing high-quality for craftsmanship and attention to to maintaining the heritage and reputation of Johnstons of and adaptable approach to production work ethic and commitment to continuous UsFounded in 1797 Johnstons of Elgin is an innovative luxury clothing brand celebrating 225 years of experience in working with the worlds finest fibres.
