An Ofsted and SIAMS Outstanding Church of England secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and reflective RE Teacher to join its highly regarded Humanities faculty. This is a distinctive opportunity for a teacher who is genuinely interested in RE as an academic discipline and who values working in a school with a strong Christian ethos that is at the same time genuinely welcoming and inclusive of students of all faiths and none.
The successful candidate will teach Religious Studies across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (AQA GCSE) as well as contributing to the schools programme of collective worship reflection days and SMSC enrichment activities. Depending on experience there may also be the opportunity to teach A-level Philosophy and Ethics in the sixth form. You will be expected to create a classroom environment in which students feel confident to discuss questions of belief ethics and identity with intellectual rigour and mutual respect.

Requirements
Degree in Theology Religious Studies Philosophy or a related subject and QTS
Strong subject knowledge across world religions philosophy and ethics at KS34
A-level teaching experience desirable
Confidence contributing to collective worship and SMSC provision
Sensitivity to and enthusiasm for teaching in a diverse multi-faith school community
