Rubberatkins is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Testing Technician to join our Research & Development team in Aberdeen.
This is a workshop/control room role focused on supporting the development of innovative elastomer products through testing particularly in high-pressure high-temperature environments. Youll play a key part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards by assembling test rigs executing test procedures and analysing results.
Working closely with the R&D Engineers youll contribute to both product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and build test rigs in line with technical drawings and procedures
Conduct testing in accordance with defined protocols
Accurately record and maintain test data and results
Assist in the development and improvement of test procedures
Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams on non-conformances
Investigate test failures and contribute to design improvements
Maintain a clean safe working environment in line with QHSE standards
Support ISO 9001 quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives
What Were Looking For
A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
Experience in pressure testing
Hands-on experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems (desirable)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Practical problem-solving skills in an engineering environment
Competence with Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
Experience with SCADA systems (desirable)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work shifts
Qualifications -
NQ / HNC / HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
This role will cover a two shift pattern 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm rotating on a weekly basis.
