What this job involves:

Our graduate programme will provide you with first-hand experience while working towards a professional qualification.

Youll join us on a 2 3 year trainee programme and sit in our Cost Management team. You will be working towards a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by completing the Quantity Surveying route for the Assessment of Professional Competency (APC).

Quantity Surveyors provide expert advice on construction costs which is why they are also known as Cost Consultants or Cost Managers. Our team ensures that proposed projects are affordable and offer good value for money so essentially they hold the purse strings of the project.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Youll get involved in real work from day one that will help clients achieve their ambitions

• Youll help research and calculate design costs to create budget estimates

• Youll monitor project spend and help report on costs to ensure they are within budgets

• Youll visit sites to carry out site visits to check on project progress

• Youll help prepare reports and contract documents for clients

• Youll embrace technology including our purpose-built applications that help us deliver real time cost management

• Youll research and keep up to date with relevant market insight and legislation that may impact our work

• Youll build relationships across our business and clients to ensure we deliver a great service

• Youll take part in regular training in business skills technical knowledge and professional development to support your growth

Required Skills and Experience:

• Degree Minimum 2:2 (predicted or achieved) in any discipline. A Bachelors or Masters degree in Quantity Surveying is desirable but not essential

• Demonstrate a strong passion for Quantity Surveying

• Youll have an interest in the property industry and how we can shape its future

• Youll have a keen interest in emerging technologies and opportunities they bring to the profession

• Youll be confident in working with numbers with strong attention to detail and approach work in a methodical way

• Youll be able to connect with others easily and build strong relationships
