Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Quantitative Analyst Analyst/Senior Analyst based out of our London office.
About the Team
The Model Development Team (MDT) plays a critical role in designing enhancing and maintaining the credit rating models that underpin Fitch Ratings analytical processes. It is part of the Analytical Group with thirty talented modelling specialists located in the UK US and China. We work very closely with the ratings team to design and develop models applying the relevant rating methodologies rigorously accurately and efficiently. The team works in a dynamic collegial and collaborative environment that values innovation and analytical rigor whilst supporting team members professional development.
How Youll Make an Impact:
- Gain and leverage valuable knowledge of credit modelling rating methodology and criteria
- Contribute to the development of models across a diverse set of sectors including Corporates Infrastructure and Project Finance Financial Institutions and Governments and Public Finance
- Team up with other talented specialists to research design implement and enhance models conduct comprehensive testing and prepare model documentation.
- Leverage the opportunity to contribute to other team initiatives such as trainings research projects and user/client support.
You May be a Good Fit if:
- Masters degree in quantitative disciplines such as Financial Engineering
- Programming and model development experience in Excel/VBA and Python or R.
- Ability to solve problems using critical rational and creative thinking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts clearly
- Strong work ethic and strong team player
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Prior experience in credit risk financial/cashflow or statistical modelling with hands-on exposure in Excel/VBA Python or R.
- Self-motivated with ability to manage timelines across multiple projects
