Quality Manager
Job Summary
An established food manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Quality Manager to join its Technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality professional who enjoys being hands-on within a manufacturing environment developing people and driving improvements across quality and food safety.
The position could suit an established Quality Manager or an experienced QA Supervisor Quality Supervisor or Senior QA looking to take the next step into management.
Working closely with the senior Technical team you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the Quality function helping to maintain and continuously improve standards across the site.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing supporting and developing the QA team.
Driving improvements within the Quality Management System.
Supporting internal audits and ensuring corrective actions are completed effectively.
Maintaining strong standards across HACCP CCPs GMP and wider food safety requirements.
Supporting traceability exercises and customer requirements.
Investigating and trending customer complaints and implementing improvements.
Reviewing microbiological and quality results.
Supporting training across the site on Technical and Quality requirements.
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation certification requirements and retailer Codes of Practice.
Identifying and implementing continuous improvements across Quality systems and processes.
We are looking for someone with previous experience within a Quality or Technical function in food manufacturing or a relevant aquaculture background.
You should have:
Good practical knowledge of food safety and Quality Management Systems.
Experience of HACCP CCPs and GMP.
Food Hygiene Level 3 or equivalent.
HACCP Level 2 minimum with Level 3 preferred.
An understanding of retailer Codes of Practice.
Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
The confidence to challenge standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider Technical team.
Previous people-management experience would be advantageous although applications are also welcomed from experienced Quality professionals who are ready to take their first significant step into management.
