Job description

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in Avonmouth.

This role will support the delivery of key projects within the nuclear sector working in a safety-focused environment where quality collaboration and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

What Youll Be Doing :

Support the quality process to ensure the high level of quality standards are maintained and in accordance with the relevant requirements through quality control.

Ensure compliance to customer and product specifications through rigorous inspections.
Conduct pre and in-service visual and dye-penetrant inspection of welds and raw material in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures.
Conduct out dimensional inspection including surface finish of products ensuring compliance to drawing requirements.
Conduct regular welding surveillance audits e.g. control of WPS essential variables.
Conducting goods-in / out inspections on materials against specfications and project requirements.
Approving in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Production Manager / Workshop Supervisor.
Carry out surveillance and inspection requirements in line with applicable Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) including supply chain.
Dealing with document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising rework and waste.
Maintain Inspection Measurement & Test Equipment in acceptable working condition at the point of inspection. e.g. Calbrated/PAT tested etc.
Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Coordination and support to NDT suppliers.
Where qualified RT and PAUT interpretation.
Quality control NCR and observation management.
Contribute towards business OpeEx and continuous improvement programmes. i.e. Lessons Learned SOP improvements.

Key outputs :

Ensure compliance to the Quality Management Systems policies and procedures to assure continuing compliance to ISO standards
The effective and accurate reporting of inspection activities.
The effective and accurate reporting of surveillance activities.
Ensure compliance to the contract quality management plans and control of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
First line of defence - raising non-conformities / observations.
Ensure traceability of raw material is maintained throughout manufacturing process.

Profile

What are we looking for

Were interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:

3-5 years proven relevant experience as a Quality Inspector (essential).
CSWIP Level 2 (3.1) Welding Inspection (essential).
PCN L2 Dye Pen or CSWIP equivalent must be ISO 9712 compliant (essential).
Experience in dimensional inspection having used a range of measuring equipment (essential).
PCN L2 Ultrasonic Testing must be ISO 9712 compliant (desirable).
PCN L2 RT/Radiographic Interpretation (desirable).
Knowledge of Quality tools and systems e.g. Six Sigma Lean Root Cause Analysis.
Experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures.
Experience leading investigations / problem solving.
High level of competence in MS Office products.
Sound fabrication and welding knowledge.
Knowledge of ISO and 45001.
Questioning attitude.
Demonstrates strong teamwork skills while requiring minimal supervision.
Organised individual with high attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills including influencing and presenting.
Ability to take responsibility and accountability for problems within their own remit and to deliver solutions.
Results focused with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
Discretion ability to maintain confidentiality.

Training :

Pressure Water Reactor (PWR) knowledge and experience.
Nuclear Safety & CFSI Awareness.
Human Perfomance and Tools.
Up-keep of current and new inspection qualifications.
