Who youll be doing it for

Youll join the mobile platform team on a UK government app working on the app and the services that support it.

The team builds and maintains the common parts of the app such as login. It also brings in key features built by other teams and manages app releases.

Youre engaged through hedgehog lab a digital product consultancy and certified B Corp also Great Place to Work certified.

For 20 years weve helped public and private sector organisations through digital transformation.

What youll be doing

Youll spend your days writing automated tests for the iOS and Android apps.

Right now the team tests with Maestro. Youll keep those tests running and fix them when they break.

Alongside that youll start building the replacements: native tests using XCUITest on iOS and Espresso on Android.

Youll test the common parts of the app such as login and check that features built by other teams work properly inside it. Your results will help the team decide when a release is ready.

Youll work next to the developers while they build so you catch problems before they ship. When something looks risky youll tell them straight away.

Whats in it for you

What youll need to be considered

You need solid commercial experience in mobile test automation.

You should have hands-on time with Maestro XCUITest or Espresso and ideally more than one.

You write test code that other people can pick up. Youre comfortable explaining results in an agile team.
