Job Summary

Purchasing Assistant
12.71 per hour - National Minimum Wage from 1st April 2026.


Location: Aldridge Walsall

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (with a 4pm finish on a Friday) 39 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing supplier orders and supporting the end-to-end purchasing process
  • Monitor stock levels and highlight any shortages or potential issues
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and update systems accordingly
  • Create and maintain reports using Excel to support decision-making
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Support the resolution of supplier queries delays or order issues
  • Provide general administrative support to the purchasing and wider office team
What Were Looking For
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills (Maths and English essential)
  • Good IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Business A-Level (or equivalent) preferred but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Positive proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities
