Prototype Technician

We are looking for a a Trainee Prototype Technician to join the team in Newcastle. This role will support the creation of packaging prototypes mock-ups and customer samples within a fast-paced packaging development environment.

This is an entry-level position designed for someone with a keen interest in packaging graphics artwork and practical hands-on creative work. The role will provide training in packaging construction artwork application prototype production and Adobe Creative Suite software.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Prototype Technicians Packaging Designers and Colour/Pre-Press teams to develop technical and creative skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assistwith the production of packaging mock-ups and prototypes.

• Support artwork application onto cartons labels sleeves and other packaging formats.

• Learn to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for artwork preparation and editing.

• Assistin operating cutting equipment printers laminators and finishing tools.

• Build and assemble packaging samples to customer and internal standards.

• Prepare materials and components for prototype projects.

• Support customer presentations and innovation projects.

• Maintain a clean safe and organised prototype studio environment.

• Learn packaging materials print processes and finishing techniques.

• Work closely with designers and development teams on creative packaging solutions.
