We are seeking an experienced Protection and Control Group Discipline Lead for our growing P&C team. You will be based in one of our key offices in Birmingham Epsom Glasgow or Leeds working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver best-in-class solutions to support the electricity sector (HV substations HV cables Transmission & Distribution Overhead Lines HVDC). The sector is undergoing unprecedented growth at the moment and a growth mindset is critical for the lead role.

Are you a protection and control engineer with leadership skills a growth mindset and a passion for people Do you like to support and inspire your team Do you thrive on juggling multiple prioritiesIf yes could you be our Discipline Lead In this role you will:

• Line manage a team of protection and control engineers providing mentorship performance management and career development support. Ensure a high level of communication engagement and pastoral care throughout the team.
• Focus on growth (recruitment onboarding retention) to enable the team to sustainably grow to match the market demand.
• Provide Technical Leadership: Lead P&C FEED and detailed design work for major transmission scale projects ensuring technical integrity and compliance with client specifications.
• Drive Quality Assurance: Drive quality and assure the delivery of FEED detailed design and bid submissions to the highest standards.
• Ensure that staff are technically equipped to deliver high-quality work to clients (through training development and culture).

In addition to having strong communication and leadership skills you will have experience in and be able to demonstrate a selection of the following attributes:

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Experience in staff development line management team leadership.
• Chartered Engineer and a member of IET is desirable. TP-141 CDAE qualifications highly desirable.
• Proven experience in P&C design of substation protection schemes IEC 61850 SCADA/SAS integration interlocking control systems) in UK or internationally.
