Property Lawyer (5+ PQE)

Our client a growing and ambitious London law firm is seeking an experienced Residential & Commercial Property Lawyer (5 years PQE) to play a pivotal role within its property team.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced property professional to step beyond traditional fee earning and take on a position that offers genuine influence within the practice. The successful candidate will be involved in both legal delivery and compliance oversight helping to maintain and enhance Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) standards whilst supporting the continued growth of the department.

As a Residential & Commercial Property Lawyer you will undertake a varied caseload whilst contributing to the firms compliance and quality objectives.

• Manage a caseload of residential and commercial property matters from instruction through to completion
• Handle:
  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Remortgages
  • Transfers of equity
  • Commercial acquisitions and disposals
  • Development and property finance matters
• Act as a key contact for property-related compliance and risk management matters
• Support the firms Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) obligations and reporting requirements
• Conduct file audits and quality reviews
• Ensure adherence to lender panel requirements and conveyancing protocols
• Mentor and support junior members of the team
• Assist with process improvement initiatives and departmental development
• Contribute towards the firms strategic growth plans

To be considered for this opportunity you should possess:

• Qualified Solicitor Legal Executive (FCILEx) or Licensed Conveyancer
• Minimum 5 years PQE (or equivalent post-qualification experience)
• Strong experience within UK residential conveyancing
• Exposure to commercial property transactions
• Ability to independently manage a busy and varied caseload
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Land Registry procedures
  • SDLT requirements
  • Lender panel requirements
  • AML and compliance obligations
  • Risk management and file handling procedures
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills

• Previous involvement with CQS compliance audits reporting or accreditation
• Team supervision or mentoring experience
• Experience supporting departmental growth initiatives
• Business development and networking experience
