Project Systems Accountant
Job Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Brentwoodto assist with the appointment of a Project Systems Accountant on a 6.5-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 34.00 - 39.00 per hour
Summary:
Were looking fora Project Systems Accountant to lead financial systems projects upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives across the Council. Youll play a key role in managing and developing corporate financial management systems supporting finance transformation projects and working closely with Finance and ICT teams to deliver efficient compliant and high-quality financial services.
Responsibilities:
- Lead financial systems projects upgrades and implementations.
- Manage and develop the Councils corporate financial management systems.
- Support finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Configure maintain and monitor financial and procurement systems.
- Manage system security user access testing training and documentation.
- Support budgeting budgetary control financial reporting reconciliations and year-end processes.
- Work closely with Finance ICT software suppliers and external stakeholders to resolve system issues and deliver improvements.
Qualifications:
- AAT qualified part-qualified or fully qualified accountant.
Essentials:
- Experience working within a Local Government finance environment.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting budgetary control and financial reporting.
- Experience managing finance systems upgrades implementations or finance transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of corporate financial management systems.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with Finance and ICT teams.
