Overview

The post is based in Revenue Scotlands newly established Change Portfolio function responsible for the implementation of New Devolved Taxes and other change initiatives across the organisation.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager deliver required change from pre-initiation to implementation ensuring adherence to PPM best practice. The post holder will be responsible for maintenance of project documentation and engaging with staff and stakeholders within a project context.

As a key member of the Portfolio Team the post holder will be responsible for supporting and coordinating various aspects of project management activities and processes (scheduling risk reporting).

  • Support the Project Manager in the creation and maintenance of project documentation such as project delivery plans briefs etc.
  • Maintain the key project logs including risks issues dependencies assumptions (RAID) and action logs.
  • Assist the project Manager with the compilation of required progress reports i.e. Highlight Reports exception reports etc
  • Co-ordinate meetings with relevant stakeholders noting actions and decisions where appropriate and support the Project Manager in the presentation of project information/updates.
  • Act as point of contact for assigned projects to help manage communications resolve minor issues and escalate required actions and concerns where appropriate.

Qualifications

Project Support Officers should have or be willing to work towards a foundation level qualification such as APMs Project Fundamentals or Foundation Level on the Axelos standards; Prince 2 MSP MoP or P3O similarly formal non-certificated awareness or foundation courses may be appropriate.

Experience:

Project Support Officershould have good experience in a fast-paced delivery or governance environment demonstrating strong organisational skills keen attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Working Pattern

Our standard hours are 35 hours per week we offer a range of flexible and hybrid working options. Our hybrid working principles require you to attend your assigned office Victoria Quay Edinburgh at least 2/3 days each month. Our hybrid approach supports a blend of home and workplace working this should be agreed with the line manager to achieve the right balance between collaboration in-person engagement and flexibility. You can also work from our Glasgow hub office if required.

Security checks

Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before they can be appointed. BPSS is comprised of four main pre-employment checks Identity Right to work Employment History and a Criminal Record check (unspent convictions).
