Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a large-scale fire door remediation and replacement programme within a live environment in Portsmouth.
This is a critical role requiring a hands-on commercially aware professional who understands the complexities of delivering compliance-led works while maintaining safety quality and minimal disruption to occupants.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of fire door remedial and replacement works across a live site. This includes planning coordination contractor management and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee all fire door remediation and replacement works on site
- Manage programme delivery within a live operational environment
- Coordinate subcontractors site teams and supply chain
- Ensure full compliance with fire safety regulations and relevant standards
- Maintain high standards of health & safety across all activities
- Liaise with clients residents and key stakeholders to minimise disruption
- Monitor progress manage risks and report on delivery against programme
- Ensure quality assurance and proper certification of completed works
- Proven experience managing fire door installation remediation or passive fire protection projects
- Strong background in construction project management (ideally within social housing healthcare or education)
- Experience working in live / occupied environments is essential
- Good working knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to drive programme and manage multiple workstreams effectively
- Relevant qualifications (SMSTS First Aid CSCS desirable)
Required Skills:
The Ideal Candidate Qualified: You hold a NEBOSH qualification (General or Construction). Ambitious: You likely have experience in a larger safety consultancy and are looking for a role with more autonomy and ownership. Local: Based in or around South Wales with a full UK driving licence.
