LOCATION: Portsmouth (with some hybrid working available subject to our Hybrid Working Policy)

TYPE: Full time - 37 Hours

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an enthusiastic technically knowledgeable Project Manager to join our team in Portsmouth to drive the end-to-end development of next-generation secure communications infrastructure and software.

Reporting directly to the Programme Manager this is a key role in a challenging rapidly changing environment where you will lead complex R&D projects from inception to completion.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Lead the Initiation Planning Execution Monitoring & Controlling and Closing of projects developing complex secure communications infrastructure software and services.

  • Manage complex development projects strictly in accordance with Airbus project lifecycle standards.

  • Apply core project management methods and processes effectively within a dynamic R&D environment.

  • Leverage excellent communication and leadership skills to steer projects through a rapidly changing landscape and ensure successful delivery.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experienced with full project lifecycle managementfrom initial proposal through to final customer acceptance.

  • Strong technical background in telecommunications or satellite communications systems software or equipment development (preferably for defence applications).

  • Relevant practical experience managing AGILE software development projects.

  • Familiar with Project Management Institute (PMI) lifecycle guidance which forms the basis of Airbus standards.
