Description of role:
As Project Manager you will provide specialist project management support to engineers business developers and commercial officers ensuring that JIP and COL proposals and projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality time and budget.
You will lead the development of standardised workflows for JIP and COL activities integrating established project management methodologies with TWIs internal processes. Working across multiple teamsincluding INN SPG CMG and technical sectionsyou will be a central point of coordination and the primary contact for external stakeholders including commercial partners and funding bodies.
A key focus of the role will be the management of laboratory-based activities where quality time and financial risks are most significant. You will also support the MPM Team Manager in enhancing project management capability across the Technology Directorate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver JIP and COL projects to agreed time cost and quality.
- Support technology focal points and project leads throughout prospecting bidding and delivery.
- Develop and implement standardised workflows for JIP and COL proposals and project execution.
- Collaborate with SPG to lead high-value JIP bids and support risk assessment during proposal development.
- Work with INN and the Project Manager: CRP to support COL proposals aligned with the TWI Technology Roadmap.
- Act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Manage project change and maintain close engagement with laboratory managers to ensure resource alignment.
- Systematically identify assess and manage project risks.
- Provide impartial advice during bid/no-bid reviews for JIP opportunities.
- Support the development of successful research bids that contribute to TWIs strategic roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of project management processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Technology Directorate.
