Werelooking for a Project Engineer to join our SCADA & Technical Support team within SP Energy Networks Distribution this roleyoullplay a vital part inmaintainingdevelopingand enhancing the critical SCADA systems that allow us tomonitorand operate the SPD network safely and reliably.

Whatyoullbe doing

As a Project Engineer in the SCADA teamyoullplaya central rolein delivering major modernisation programmes across the SPD is a critical role inmaintainingreliable operational visibility communicationroutesand overall system performance across Primary and Grid substations.

Youllwork closely with the Operations Control Centre (OCC) wider engineeringteamsand external suppliers to ensure the effective delivery configuration and support of the SCADA systems that keep the network running safely and efficiently.

  • Developmaintainand support SCADA assets across the SPD network.
  • Deliverchangeprocessactivities and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical input into SCADA specifications particularly for RTU replacement and development.
  • Support regulatory andbusinessdrivenobjectivesunder RIIO.
  • Respond to SCADA faults and defects working closely with the OCC to optimise operational performance.
  • Configure test and commission SCADA systems includingonsiteactivities.

Whatyoullbring

  • HNC/D in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience within the construction and operations of electricity networks
  • Strong negotiationcommunicationandstakeholdermanagementskills.
  • Experience working with SCADA systems on electrical power networks.
  • Good understanding ofindustrystandardSCADA protocols andprotocolemulationtools.
  • Transmission or Distribution network operational experience.
  • Ability to analyse complex engineering issues and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of network data businesssystemsandnetworkmanagementtools.
  • Essential:A valid UK driving licence isrequired as this role involves frequent travel between sites
