About the role

Informed Solutions partners with leading public sector bodies and large private sector organisations to deliver innovative high-impact digital transformation programmes. As Project Accountant you will lead the commercial and project accountancy activities that underpin effective business performance providing trusted insight across forecasting billing revenue business planning and contract management. You will work closely with senior stakeholders clients and delivery teams to ensure robust commercial governance identify risks and opportunities and support informed decision making while contributing to financial quality and client audits. You will help foster a collaborative high-performing community sharing knowledge and driving continuous improvement across the discipline. This role offers flexibility to be based from our Altrincham Office (Manchester) where youll be part of a collaborative high-performing team environment supported by our hybrid working approach.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities to the Business

  • Facilitate monthly commercial review meetings with key stakeholders to improve forecast quality commercial decision making and performance.
  • Lead the month-end billing cycle ensuring invoices accurately reflect contractual terms and all billable activity is captured.
  • Lead the assurance of the business pipeline and revenue forecasts maintaining accurate information to support commercial decision making.
  • Lead business planning activities with key stakeholders translating forecasts into business plans identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Own the commercial contract register ensuring contractual obligations commercial opportunities and key lifecycle events are proactively managed.
  • Represent Finance in client and engagement meetings providing commercial insight to support effective decision making.
  • Lead the commercial contribution to financial quality and client audits ensuring commercial information invoicing and revenue recognition are accurate complete and supported by appropriate evidence.
  • Help structure and provide assurance for the work of less experienced practitioners enabling them to maximise quality and velocity. Monitor the application of the methods and requirements of the Online Operations Manual (OOM) process pro-actively managing technical risks and issues identifying improvements and building these into the process.
  • Build effective working relationships with other Service Groups client counterparts where relevant and those of partner/3rd party organisations.
  • Hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification and maintain professional competence through CPD.

Key Responsibilities to the Project Accountancy Discipline

  • Champion and actively contribute to and improve policies standards and guidelines through the OOM processes based on experience and awareness of wider industry best practice and innovations.
  • Play a leading role in the ongoing development of the discipline driving innovation best practice adoption and supporting leads to maintain an energised community of practitioners taking a leading role in meetings and activities. Motivate and empower practitioners to create a positive and creative culture for our people to perform well learn and grow.
  • Support the growth of Informeds capability by helping to recruit staff (interviews assessments) and contributing to InformedACADEMY (masterclasses training) shaping materials to achieve curriculum outcomes.
  • Provide Practitioner Coaching for less experienced practitioners.

Key requirements

  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant project accountancy experience
  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA ACA CIMA or equivalent)
  • Ability to communicate financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills

Desirable skills

  • Experience working across multidisciplinary programme and project teams
  • Knowledge of FRS 102 revenue recognition
